Oral history interview with Emily Shaffer, Dec. 20, 2001.

Shaffer discusses the B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundation at the University of Washington during the years 1944-1949. She describes the social atmosphere and programs offered by Hillel, including the observances of Shabbat and Jewish holidays. She names Habonim, a Labor Zionist youth organization as one of the student groups that met at Hillel. She recalls some of the rabbis who served Hillel, including Judah Seidler, Zuckerman, and Horowitz. She also mentions different buildings Hillel occupied in the 1940s.
